Simple, affordable, spacious; the Haven home package is strong enough to allow for green living & hold up to nature’s punches for multiple generations.

The Washoe County Nevada Building and Safety Department  has issued a building permit for a new Envirohaven home to be located off Mt. Rose Hwy (on the way to Tahoe). Thank you to Don Jepson, AIA, Building Official, Steve LeCam, and the rest of the department that have been extremely helpful and supportive  regarding our innovative design and the sustainable materials we’ve chosen to use for our structure.

Thank you to John Routsis, Esq. for so generously providing an ideal location for this home that we will be using as a working model, open to the public (by appointment) when complete. The home is being designed and completed for John to live in eventually, but for now, his overwhelming support is enabling us to create this  model home which will showcase holistic sustainability.

Thank you to Jeff Frame, AIA, Frame Architecture, and his architect assistant Megan Compton. Jeff has been on board with Envirohaven since early on; lending great support and enthusiasm, as well as admirable tenacity.

Thank you to Nabil Taha, Ph. D., S.E., Precision Structural Engineering and the rest of his team for their vision and great service, which enabled us to make the changes we needed in a timely manner.

Thank you to Cole Kruegar, Jet Products, who provided all of the detailed specification and testing information  required by Washoe County in order for them to feel comfortable with their product. Jet Products manufactures a magnesium oxide board that will be our exterior sheeting. In addition to being a green and healthy product for our homes,  provides many additional features that outperform plywood. More on Jet-Board to come in a future post.

There are many more thank you’s due. We’ve been extremely thankful for the support and encouragement we’ve been continually receiving from our immediate community and beyond.  Thank you!
